Maine Lobster Boat Ride

First timer taking a lobster boat ride. During our trip to Acadia national park this year, we book the lululobster boat ride (http://www.lululobsterboat.com/) to expand our adventure.  We boarded from Bar harbor dock.
It was a gorgeous day. The boat took us around the Frenchman bay to observe marine life animals and bird watching in addition to lobster fishing.

We saw seal pop (http://www.flickr.com/photos/julianpan/6179952374/in/photostream) around the Egg Rock Light House area, bald eagle and great blue heron (http://www.flickr.com/photos/julianpan/6179460055/in/photostream).

Caption John started off describing two types of lobster traps: wooden and metal(?) Then he went on to pull the first trap. We got a 1 1/4 one.

Our first catch. A 1 1/4 pound lobster.
John was explaining the lobster anatomy

Can you tell if this one male or female? It's a DUDE~

This is our other catch. The photo is self explanatory. It's a female carrying huge amount of eggs. However, these type of lobster must be marked and throw back to the sea by Maine lobster fishing regulations. This is to ensure that we will have enough lobsters to eat in the near future.
